How do we know it is on?
The led indicater beside the camera will light up red when on standby and blue when in use. Make sure to plug in the Main USB-A connection into your laptop and the extension USB-A into another port of your computer or a USB power adapter.

How do I change the Video mode of the Mini without downloading CoolpoTools?
You can press the button at the back of the Mini. This will alternate between Frame Master (with Target Master), Division View, and Wide Angle.
