Glassdoor, the largest job search website in the United States, recently released a list of the 100 best places to work in the United States in 2022. The ranking of Facebook parent company Meta Platforms dropped 36 places in one go, from 11th last year to 47th, reflecting the past year. The company has suffered from a string of PR crises.
Facebook has been on the nation's 100 Best Places to Work list for 12 consecutive years, but this year is its lowest ranking ever.
GlaSSDoor said Facebook employees spoke highly of the company for giving them job autonomy, providing them with a wide range of benefits, giving them the opportunity to develop a product with wide-ranging impact, and to work with colleagues they love.
But many also cited negative issues, such as unwelcome public scrutiny, a lack of leadership action on the platform, and questions about the company's future direction.
Another tech company that dropped significantly was video conferencing software giant Zoom, which was No. 22 last year but dropped to No. 100 this year, making it the biggest decliner on the list. Employees appreciate the company's perks, unlimited paid time off, and enthusiasm for developing products in times of growth, but others see a negative shift in Zoom's culture amid high business demands and a fast-paced work environment.
The ranking list is as follows
#1 NVIDIA
#2 HubSpot
#3 Bain & Company
#4 eXp Realty
#5 Box
#6 Boston Consulting Group
#7 Google
#8 Veterans United Home Loans
#9 lululemon
#10 Salesforce
Of the 100 companies on this year's list, 40 are from the tech industry, up from 28 last year. All companies on the list have at least 1,000 employees.
